Job Description


We are seeking a Training & Development Instructional Designer with facilitated training responsibilities\. The functional organization is Talent Management and Development \(TM&D\) organization\. This position leads the design, development, and evaluation of curriculum development projects and other learning initiatives\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Maintain Learning structures \(e\.g\.: templates, framework, standards, processes, administration of files and records, formulation of business rules and best practices, and troubleshoot issues\)
+ Develop all types of instructional programs to include instructor led, online/eLearning, self\-guided study, blended, etc\.

This position primarily provides learning programs for highly regulated activity type work, but does offer abundant opportunity for creative learning interventions\.


+ Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus 5 years of demonstrated relevant experience\.
+ Experience in the execution of SAT \(systematic approach to training\), with experience in the ADDIE or similar process\.
+ Project management experience\.


+ Master’s degree in relevant field plus 3\+ years relevant experience
+ Solid background in eLearning design with meaningful experience in online development skills, tools, and processes \(e\.g\. HTML\-5, CSS, client\-side scripting, Adobe Captivate, graphics and other authoring tools/software\)\.

Department Description:

Business and Personal Effectiveness Training Team within the Human Resources Center providing Sandia National Laboratories and its workforce the communications, business, and personal effectiveness instructional design, products & services to support the Division\. Additionally, the department provides consulting services to Sandians to improve their job and organizational performance\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance\.

This Limited Term Employee \(LTE\) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years\.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance\.
