We are seeking an Intern Year Round \- Technical Undergrad

The Creative Services Department is seeking an individual pursuing a career in audio\-visual technical expertise\. Exceptional customer service is expected for all services provided\.The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and in a team environment\. This individual must be able to follow established processes and procedures as well as offer ideas for process improvements\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Assist int the operation of Sandia’s corporate auditoriums and audio/visual support for on\-site and off\-site, high profile events
+ Help maintain video editing suites, sound systems, satellite downlinks, fiber transmissions, and the AVID/ ISIS online editing platform
+ Install, modify, test, and service internal and in\-house data communications network equipment and related systems, audiovisual systems, and video production systems
+ Assist in recommending improvements and developing technical standards


You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3\.0/4\.0
+ Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U\.S\. citizenship

Additional Requirements:

+ Current enrollment in an engineering/ Information Technology degree in a related field


+ Experience working or looking to gain experience with live video projection, presentation, and video production equipment, including multichannel audio mixers, audio equalizers, video cameras, multimedia and multiscreen presentations, and various video recording and playback formats in an auditorium environment and in the field
+ Knowledge in troubleshooting, installing, and integrating video and audio for live production, post\-production, and projection systems
+ Ability to interact with customers at offsite communication events
+ Ability to make recommendations to purchase hardware and software and coordinate and perform installation
+ Experience with Windows and/or MAC systems general application administration

Department Description:

Provides professional graphic design, animation, technical writing/editing, video production, audiovisual and off\-site event production, digital display and mobile application design and printing services that contribute to the success of the Laboratories and its mission\. The department is funded by a combination of indirect funding and Service Center cost recoveries\. The services provided include, but are not limited to photography, publication design and layout, interactive multimedia presentations, exhibit design and planning, interior design, poster fabrication, graphic illustrations, corporate auditoriums, and video production\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
