Job Description

:

We are looking for a candidate with strong software design and development skills and experience, with the ability to think broadly and deeply in the design and implementation of software applications\.

It is expected that the selected individuals will:

+ Have fundamental technical competencies in software engineering practices, including designing, implementing, and testing production software applications\.
+ Work effectively on Agile software development teams and help to build and improve DevOps development environments\.
+ Work collaboratively with architects, developers, technical leads, customers, and end users to collect requirements, design solutions, and deliver extensible software applications
+ Be able to contribute to research and development in areas such as service\-oriented and micro\-services architectures, big data problem space, data and compute virtualization, 3D data visualization, enterprise cyber security, mobile computing, and business intelligence\.

Required:

+ Master’s degree in Computer Science or in a relevant discipline; or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in a relevant discipline plus 5 or more years of experience; or Doctorate in relevant discipline
+ Experience in software design and development using Java, C\+\+, or C\#; including proficiency in objected\-oriented design and development

Desired:

+ Experience with web\-based application development
+ Experience with Docker containers, Jenkins continuous integration, and continuous delivery approaches to software development and deployment in cloud\-based environments\.
+ Experience with 3D game development, Unity3D, augmented reality or virtual reality content creation
+ Knowledge of and experience with the full software development life cycle using iterative or agile methods
+ Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment; excellent listening and communication skills
+ Critical thinking, synthesis and problem\-solving; ability to deal with ambiguity and adapt to a fast\-paced, customer\-focused operation; teaming; self\-starting

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
