**JOB SUMMARY**

The Advanced Microsystems Radiation Effects and Analysis Department is seeking an Experienced Microelectronics Technologist to support our research, development, testing, modeling, and prototyping of new microsystems technologies, devices, manufacturing processes, and hardness assurance methods\.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:**

+ Performs technical functions that support research, development, and prototyping of new microelectronic or semiconductor technologies, devices, and manufacturing processes, including optoelectronics; microelectromechanical systems; sensors, components, and systems that include semiconductors, semiconductor\-based integrated analog or digital circuits; and the packaging, assembly and integration of devices\.
+ Works from documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, diagrams, layouts, and plans that may require comprehensive knowledge and practical understanding of electronic theory and principles\.
+ May perform board and ASIC layout, lab equipment programming, and other tasks associated with the design and test of integrated circuits\.
+ May apply and document quality inspection, test, and measurement procedures and results for assembled microcomponents and microsystems devices\.
+ May design, construct, use, verify, and validate test equipment\.
+ May perform a variety of preventative maintenance duties on laboratory equipment\.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:**

+ Ability to interpret and apply knowledge and practical understanding of electronic theory and principles\.
+ Ability to write programs and algorithms to control semiconductor test equipment\.

Required:

+ Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Engineering Technology, or Associates Degree in Technology with 5 or more years’ experience\.

Desired:

+ Ability to design, layout, and assemble electronic circuit boards\.
+ Ability to use a variety of computer systems including Linux, Unix, PC, and Mac\.
+ Ability to read and edit computer programs\.
+ Familiarity with semiconductor device testing principles\.
+ Willingness to work in radiation testing facilities\.
+ Active Q Clearance\.

Department Description:

The Advanced Microsystems Radiation Effects and Analysis team develops, integrates, characterizes, and assures the radiation hardness of advanced microsystems technologies for the nation's nuclear deterrence mission\. Our research and development focuses on key technology areas of: advanced CMOS; radio\-frequency \(rf\), power, and other analog applications; photonics and optoelectronics; compound semiconductors; non\-volatile memories \(NVM\); micro\-electro\-mechanical \(MEM\) sensors and actuators; and heterogeneous integration among these disparate technologies\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
