We are seeking a LTD TRM TIER 4 \- ADMN SVCS

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ assist employees, contractors, consultants and visitors by processing security clearance requests \(access authorizations\) and issuing badges \(access controls\)\. These processes are facilitated by a team of 14 represented personnel who team together to ensure customers are processed, authorized and issued the appropriate clearance and badge to access Sandia premises\.
+ some of the components of the processes include: 1\) employee, contractor and consultant clearance processing and verification; 2\) reinvestigations; 3\) incoming/outgoing visits; 4\) HSPD\-12 Federal Credential enrollment, activation and updates; and 5\) badge issuance\.
+ in addition, the selected candidate will be required to conduct data analysis, identify issues, and provide solutions/enhancements to databases, processes and procedures\.
+ utilize and become an expert on various program\-specific databases\.
+ meet processing timeline expectations and respond to inquiries in a timely manner\.
+ attention to detail is critical as the selected candidates must ensure that procedures are followed to ensure that only authorized access is granted to employees, contractors, consultants and visitors\.
+ must provide the customer constant instruction to ensure adherence to established processes, policies and procedures\.
+ begin work at the Badge Office Front Counter with the opportunity to learn other Clearance Office/Badge Office functions or rotate to other desks in the future\.


+ The Personnel Security Department is comprised of several different, integrated security Programs to include Access Authorizations, Badging, Control of Visits, Contract Security Management, Human Reliability Program and Unclassified Foreign Visits and Assignments\.
+ We are looking for a dynamic, energetic team player to work in the Badge and Clearance Office\.
+ The duties of the position require the applicant to provide exceptional customer service as customer service is an integral part of the job\.
+ The applicant must be a good listener, be able to identify and anticipate the needs of the customer, make customers feel important and appreciated\., help customers follow Sandia’s processes and find way to help meet the customer’s needs \- all while ensuring processes are followed\.
+ **This is a Limited Term Assignment\. Limited Term Employees \(LTEs\) are hired for up to one \(1\) year, with the option to extend the one \(1\) year assignment one \(1\) additional year, upon mutual agreement betweenthe Laboratories and the Union, for a total of two \(2\) years maximum\.** LTEs are required to meet all testing requirements\.
+ There are contractual limits on the number of LTEs per department\. Refer to the 2011 OPEIU Labor Agreement for details\.

+ have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and able to adapt and become an expert with positions specific databases\.

Once the applicant has submitted their application and resume, there will be several levels of screening as applicable: \(1\) resume review for direct experience and related\-work history; \(2\) skills assessments \(typing, Microsoft software competency, and basic office skills through written tests\); \(3\) interview evaluations; \(4\) pre\-employment background reviews; and \(5\) drug testing\. Each screening level must be passed successfully and consecutively in order to be eligible for consideration\.

As a condition of employment, this position is represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union \(OPEIU\) and represented employees must pay the monthly membership dues or agency fee\.


+ Experience with DOE/NNSA or DOD Security and working with DOE/NSNA or DOD directives\.
+ Experience working with all level of DOE/NNSA and Sandia members of the workforce\.
+ Experience utilizing DOE/NNSA and SNL databases related to security clearances and badging \(i\.e\., Central Personnel Clearance Index \(CPCI\), Weapon Data Access Control System \(WDACS\), Access Control Enabling System \(ACES\), Enterprise Person, USAccess, Oracle, and/or Contract Security Management Database\)

Department Description:

Personnel Security includes the Badge Office, Clearance Office, Foreign Interactions Office, Human Reliability Program and Background Investigations Program\. We ensure positive access control for DOE resources through the issuance of DOE badges, the processing of security clearances and visits as well as administration of the Human Reliability Program and Foreign Interactions Program\. Additionally, we conduct background investigations on potential employees of Sandia\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\.

Required Testing:
