Job Description

:

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support a power source product realization team\. This individual will join a high performing technical team in the design, development, qualification, and delivery of highly specialized power sources for national security applications\. These components frequently must be designed to meet demanding performance specifications, offer extremely high reliability, enable integration and interfacing to complex host systems, and meet stringent survivability requirements in adverse environments\. The successful candidate will support the PRT to ensure that all requirements are addressed, will verify that the system design satisfies all requirements, and will collect evidentiary packages for sell\-off to the customer\. Job responsibilities will also include ensuring that work is conducted in a safe and secure manner with respect to all of Sandia National Laboratories and Center 2500 guidelines\. Some travel will be required\.

Required:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in science, technology, engineering, physics or mathematics \(STEM\) discipline\.
+ Experience negotiating requirements\.
+ Able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance\.

Desired:

+ Experience with Nuclear Weapon \(NW\) product development\.
+ Familiarity with the NW drawing system \(IMS, EAWeb, etc\)\.
+ Experience working as a team member, strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare clearly\-written technical reports and briefings\.
+ Experience with power source design, production, or surveillance\.
+ Experience working with the Kansas City National Security Campus in delivering War Reserve quality hardware\.
+ Current and active DOE Q\-level security clearance\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
