Job Description


We are seeking information assurance specialists to join the FIE Cyber Security Program to mitigate cyber threats\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Perform System Security Plan Certification & Accreditation\.
+ Assess and Mitigate Threats\.
+ Validate Security Requirements\.
+ Change and configuration management board security reviews\.
+ Perform security testing\.
+ Coordinate with other DOE labs and government agencies\.

Candidates applying on this requisition may be interviewed and/or hired into one of several organizations at Sandia National Laboratories\.


+ Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Assurance, or relevant discipline plus entry level experience \(up to two years\); or master's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Assurance, or relevant discipline; or equivalent experience \(a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience required to qualify in lieu of a relevant degree\)\.
+ Previous experience with information systems and application of security controls\.
+ Active or recent \(less than 5 years\) DOE Q or DOD Top Secret security clearance\.


+ Experience working in a US Government cyber security program, or knowledge and experience with cyber security orders and policies\.
+ Experience and ability to apply cyber security standards, directives, guidance and policies to an architectural framework\.
+ Cyber security certifications \(e\.g\. Security\+, CISSP, CISM, GIAC\)\.
+ Experience with Sandia's cyber security requirements, developing and managing security plans\.
+ Experience working with DOD or the Intelligence Community and prior/current TS/SCI\.

Department Description:

The FIE Cyber Security Program \(05197, 05195\) supports the Sandia FIE mission by ensuring effective security solutions through security engineering, continuous monitoring, system security plans, and vulnerability assessment\. The cyber security staff consist of Information Systems Security Managers \(ISSMs\), Information Systems Security Officers \(ISSOs\), and Information Systems Security Engineers \(ISSEs\)\. The department is focused on mitigating cyber threats while providing efficient service to DOE\-IN, DoD and the Intelligence Community\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a SCI security clearance\.

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test\.
