Job Description

:

We are seeking a Shift Operations Coordinator\.

On any given day, you will be called on to:

+ Serve as an incident commander and command team member during emergency and non\-emergency response\.
+ Integrate health and safety plans, policies, and procedures into daily activities in accordance with requirements\.
+ Understand the work of the team and guides the work of the project\.

This position requires working outdoors in adverse conditions and working rotating shifts, to include holidays to provide 24 hr response\.

Selected applicants will be required to pass a Job Placement Assessment before beginning the job to ensure that they can perform the essential physical requirements, with or without accommodations\.

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus 5 years managing emergencies; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience\.
+ 4 years’ experience as a Field Chief Officer/Commander managing NIMS type four \(27 plus first responders\) and higher emergencies \(Fire/Hazmat/EMS\)\.
+ Experience in planning, organizing, developing, implementing and directing activities\.

Desired:

+ 10 years managing Fire, HAZMAT and/or EMS incidents\.
+ Worked rotating shifts within past 5 years\.
+ Experience as an OSHA 1910\.120 responder at Operations level\.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft \(Word/Outlook\)\.
+ Effective Time Management Skills\.
+ Proven experience \- working in high stress situations\.
+ Demonstrated positive relationship\.
+ Successful working independently \(organize and prioritize work to contribute to improvement of organization\)\.
+ Demonstrated success as a member of a team\.
+ Integrating and implementing safety in documentation, response activities, special events and daily operations\.
+ Certifications: Incident Safety Officer, Fire Department Safety Officers Association\.
+ Blue Card Incident Command Certification\.
+ Current EMT\-B CPR/AED; Bloodborne Pathogens\.
+ Written/Oral communication skills \- at all levels\.
+ Active DOE or DOD security clearance\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

This Limited Term Employee \(LTE\) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years\.
