Job Description


An opening exists for a customer\-oriented, enthusiastic and motivated manager with strong information technology breadth, to manage the 10764 department\. The 10764 manager is responsible for providing leadership, advocacy and strategic vision for a team of dedicated, highly talented technical staff and for executing many CIO objectives\. The 10764 manager is expected to collaborate with the 10760 management team to execute the mission of the 10760 group\. The 10764 manager will also collaborate closely with Cyber Security\. Our mission is to engineer computing end points \(desktop, mobile devices, Windows, Mac, Linux, etc\) to enable Sandia productivity and balance Cyber Security risk\. These endpoints are on multiple networks, and devices are both virtual and physical\. The preferred candidate will have a broad range of IT domain knowledge with deep understanding of the end device use cases of our customers and have a high level understanding of the technologies that enable our services\. Equally, the 10764 manager will be responsible for the integration of Cyber Security controls on Sandia’s end point computing devices\.


+ Education – Minimum of a Bachelors in MIS, Computer Science or a related field plus 8 or more years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and IT experience
+ Experience in delivering IT support/services to Sandia customers
+ Experience leading IT development projects
+ Experience leading Maintenance & Operations services, including integrating cyber security in to M&O


+ Demonstrated ability or experience in providing critical thinking on a wide range of technical and nontechnical issues
+ Demonstrated ability to lead cross\-organizational teams with a diversity of backgrounds
+ Strong communication skills
+ Demonstrated ability to understand end customer requirements
+ Demonstrated ability and experience preparing and delivering informative briefings and presentations\.
+ Demonstrated ability in mentoring individuals
+ Demonstrated ability to understand and respond appropriately to diverse, and sometimes competing, stakeholder demands
+ 2 years of leadership experience \(management or project leadership\)
+ Experience managing an IT service organization
+ Project Management \(PMI\) certification
+ Quality Processes & Frameworks – expertise with or strong understanding of ITIL and/or ISO concepts and implementations

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
