Job Description


We are seeking a Tactical Planner to manage the Sandia Real Estate Program, in compliance with DOE Order 430\.1B and the DOE Real Estate Manual\. You will conduct real estate actions, to include leases, permits, easements, licenses and transfer of ownership\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Respond to line customers mission needs, and determine real estate actions and solutions\.
+ Develop program needs and mission justifications to support all new and ongoing real estate actions\.
+ Develop space and operational requirements, as they relate to real property, to acquire and administer real estate\.
+ Partner with Operations and Security to ensure that operations in leased facilities and permitted lands are conducted in compliance with safety and security requirements\.
+ Prepare, submit and coordinate Preliminary Real Estate Plans \(PREPs\) for approval by the Sandia Field Office for all leases and land use permits\.
+ Prepare and submit Engineering Work Requests for all site improvements and construction activities on land use permits\.
+ Support the Real Estate lead in the development of the real estate section of each Division’s Facilities & Infrastructure \(F&I\) Plans\.
+ Represent the real estate program as an essential element of Sandia’s and Facilities’ strategies and plans, which provide and maintain facilities and infrastructure for mission support\.
+ Serve as an interface with the Sandia Field Office and the NNSA for all real estate actions\.
+ Produce required lease and land use permit reports; maintain and manage all real estate documents and records; and maintain a real estate management system to track all actions and deliverables\.


+ Bachelor’s degree\.
+ Experience or education in space/facilities management, or related\.


+ Advanced degree in relevant discipline\.
+ Knowledge of Sandia's facility and operational policies, practices, and procedures\.
+ Knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting real estate actions\.
+ Ability to think and plan strategically \(long\-term\) and execute tactically \(short\-term\)\.
+ Professional Certification \(i\.e\., Real Estate license, project management, facility professional\)\.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment\.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills\.
+ Demonstrated problem solving skills\.
+ Experience in real estate within the federal government, or the private sector\.
+ Active DOE/DOD clearance\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance\.
