Job Description

:

+ Leading the team to improve and maintain the infrastructure, tools, templates and processes required for lean and continuous improvement across the Labs\.
+ Establish and steward Sandia’s continuous improvement programs\.
+ Drive a cultural change towards a continuous improvement mentality that encourages and enables every Member of the Workforce to make small, ongoing continuous improvements to his/her work and work environment\.
+ Guide the development of metrics of the health of Sandia’s continuous improvement program and systematically lead performance improvements\.
+ Lead the effort to engage, equip, and align Sandia’s lean experts as well as build the next generation of lean experts to deliver results aligned to Sandia’s mission\.
+ Strengthen management and leadership’s understanding of lean and continuous improvement principles and behaviors\.
+ Partner with the Lab Operating System core team to support successful deployment\.
+ Work closely with Honeywell counterparts and other industry experts to build a leading continuous improvement program\.

Required:

+ Requires a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate in relevant business or STEM discipline\.
+ Eight or more years of relevant experience\.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a required DOE Q\-level security clearance\.
+ Experience with and understanding of lean management and continuous improvement tools, training, and processes\.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives and drive process excellence, including an ability to measurably improve processes from end\-to\-end\.

Desired:

+ Two or more years of demonstrated leadership experience\.
+ Establishing a vision and strategy for a team and then driving strategy to action\.
+ Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing staff and developing effective working relationships with peers\.
+ Experience managing teams including goal setting, performance management and employee development while practicing lean thinking and learning organizational concepts\.
+ Team orientation, strong interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated record of driving results\.

Department Description:

The Business Excellence Center \(10100\) has the primary mission of establishing, deploying and maintaining the Sandia Laboratory Operating System \(LOS\)\. This is a multi\-year journey to evolve the laboratory culture to a learning organization\. Within this center, we are looking for a Department Manager to deploy and improve tools, training and processes across Sandia as well as establish and steward Sandia’s continuous improvement programs\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
