The successful applicant will join a department that develops large\-scale system simulations and algorithms for advanced aerospace concepts\. The department is located in a center at Sandia that builds and flight\-tests advanced aerospace concepts to address national defense needs\. In addition to developing simulation tools, the department performs wide\-ranging analyses of aerospace systems for internal and external customers\. Supercomputers are available at Sandia for simulating systems of almost any size and complexity\. As simulation experts for systems built and flown by Sandia, the department also creates flexible, custom tools to create algorithm “laboratories”, where state\-of\-the\-art aerospace algorithms are developed and tested\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Develop advanced algorithms for future advanced flight systems\.
+ Perform analysis of advanced flight systems\.
+ Create / design new advanced flight system concepts\.

Required:

+ Bachelor's and advanced degree \(MS or PhD\) in Aeronautical/Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline\.
+ Aerospace systems modeling experience\.
+ Experience using C\+\+ or other high performance computing code\.
+ Documented completion of coursework in flight/space dynamics, control and estimation systems\.

Desired:

+ Large\-scale simulation software development experience\.
+ Experience developing software on parallel, cluster, and/or graphic\-processor supercomputers\.
+ Real\-time algorithm development experience\.
+ Demonstrated accomplishment in the desired areas through publications in professional journals or conference proceedings\.
+ The ability to obtain an SCI clearance\.
