Job Description


We are seeking an Intern Year Round \- Clerical Union Undergrad

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Support and assist the OAAs when requested and cover OAA positions during brief absences
+ Enter data and maintain databases/spreadsheets
+ Respond to requests for information, answer phones and coordinate visitors
+ Coordinate Gem cart / car maintenance requirements
+ Assist in the collection and distribution of mail
+ Assist with miscellaneous tasks
+ Support staff requests
+ Prepare, edit or format a variety of documents such as correspondence, reports, graphs, and charts
+ Process paperwork in accordance with Sandia National Laboratories policies and procedures
+ Order office supplies

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 2\.5/4\.0
+ Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U\.S\. citizenship

As a condition of employment, the selected candidate will be represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union \(OPEIU\), which requires monthly membership dues or agency fees\. New hires into an OPEIU represented position will remain in the initial position for twelve \(12\) months before being eligible to be considered for other Sandia employment\.

Department Description:

The R&D Systems Architecture department within the Science and Engineering Information Systems \(SEIS\) group architects and develops software applications and solutions for mission programs across Sandia and across the Nuclear Security Enterprise \(NSE\)\. These software solutions enable many mission\-critical activities in all phases of a customers product lifecycle\. Within division 9000 we work closely with corporate IT services and infrastructure teams to cost effectively meet our customer needs\. In addition, we interact frequently with application end users, mission customers and key stakeholders throughout Sandia and the NSE\.We are a cross\-discipline team of architects, technical leads and software engineers that architect, design, develop and maintain innovative software solutions for its customers\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
