We are seeking an Intern Summer \- R&D Undergrad

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Work on complex and challenging problems to develop novel technologies
+ Assist in lowering the risk posed by high\-consequence events such as cyber\-attack, nuclear and biological proliferation, terrorist threats, catastrophic incidents, and potentially destabilizing events
+ Work on multidisciplinary team collaborations and cross\-over between physical and cyber security

Required:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time \(or scheduled to graduate in the spring\) in an accredited undergraduate program
+ Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3\.0/4\.0
+ Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U\.S\. citizenship

Additional Requirements:

+ Candidate must be pursuing a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree

Note: If you have not yet started your undergraduate program, please apply to a high school intern position\.

Desired:

+ GPA of at least 3\.5 out of 4\.0 for all degrees earned
+ Working knowledge and understanding of an engineering or science\-related field as listed in the required section
+ An existing U\.S\. Government granted security clearance

Department Description:

The Interns for Security, Arms Control, and Force Protection Engineering \(iSAFE\) program gives students the opportunity to develop next\-generation systems for compelling national security missions\. Interns work on complex and challenging problems to lower the risk posed by high\-consequence events, such as nuclear and biological proliferation, terrorist threats, catastrophic incidents, and potentially destabilizing events\. Projects range from small R&D efforts to large, multidisciplinary team collaborations\. Sponsored by Sandia’s Energy, Nonproliferation, and High\-Consequence Security Division, iSAFE offers technical mentors and projects in critical asset protection and security, weapon and force protection, and nonproliferation and cooperative threat reduction\. The mission of iSAFE is to contribute to national security through the effective use of science, technology and full\-spectrum system solutions to lower the risk posed by high\-consequence events\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance\.
