Job Description

:

Multiple departments within the Surety Analysis Group are seeking an R&D S&E Electrical Engineer \(early to mid\-career\) to help them understand how electrical insults effect complex systems\.

You will develop subject matter expertise in safety architecture for systems to preclude undesirable events\. You will apply your expertise using detailed analysis and testing of designs to develop the technical basis for assuring these systems are sufficiently safe to unintended electrical insults\.

On any given day you could be asked to:

+ Identify and model how unintended electrical insults \(such as AC, DC and ESD\) will challenge the safety architecture of a system
+ Support multidisciplinary teams with the development of analyses and tests that evaluate the effectiveness of safety features
+ Dig deep into designs to fully understand how they function and respond to different environments
+ Travel to collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts

Required:

+ Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM discipline; or Ph\.D\. degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field
+ Experience with electrical circuit design and analysis
+ Experience with the transmission and/or isolation of electrical energy

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
