Job Description


We are seeking a Technical Business Development Specialist\. The core elements of the job require the facilitating of Cooperative Research & Development Agreement \(CRADA\) packages through stakeholder approvals within Sandia and working directly with DOE to obtain approval of the Agreements\. CRADAs are the sole binding mechanism that facilitate collaboration between Sandia National Laboratories and non\-federal entities and entail stringent attention to detail to ensure compliance with legislation, administrative law, prime contract clauses and corporate procedure\. Development of CRADAs necessitates engagement in partnership meetings, providing detailed guidance to internal and external stakeholders on the requirements of working with a national laboratory, creation of invoice schedules, contract review, and participation in teleconferences with prospective collaborators\.


99. Bachelor’s in relevant discipline plus entry level experience \(preferably two years\); or master’s degree in relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience\.
99. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance\.


99. Demonstration of acute attention to detail
99. Ability to multi\-task in a fast\-paced potentially high\-volume environment
99. Background in law or contracts
99. Strong communication skills in the written and oral form
99. Ability to take initiative on issues or problems
99. Knowledge or experience working with a national laboratory
99. Ability to think strategically
99. Experience as a paralegal
99. Current and active DOE Q\-level security clearance

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship\.

This Limited Term Employee \(LTE\) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years\.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance\.
