Job Description


We are seeking an Intern Year Round \- Technical Grad

Potential candidates should currently be graduate students in computer science or engineering related degree programs\. Candidates should also demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively with teams and as an individual\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Perform research on energy storage deployments around the world, to synthesize and analyze complex source materials, and to present research results
+ Rely on extensive knowledge of a suite of software, including Microsoft Office, database management, data analytics software
+ Recall website and database knowledge: approved standards, controls, and protocol
+ Maintain a public access database


You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Earned bachelor's degree
+ Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited graduate program
+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3\.0/4\.0
+ Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
+ U\.S\. citizenship


+ Hands on experience involving technical aspects of website development
+ Candidate should be a self\-starter, motivated with a strong desire to learn in a wide variety of topics in multiple disciplines
+ Good written and oral communication
+ Familiar with general technologies used in support of database development and maintenance
+ Capability to independently prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks
+ Troubleshoot emerging problems and events\-of\-the\-day
+ Project delivery based on scope \- on time and on budget

Department Description:

The Energy Systems Analysis Department provides a capability within Sandia to assess future energy options, modernize the US energy infrastructure, and to help identify the critical research and development needs to ensure the future reliability, sustainability, and security of our customer's energy systems and the nation's energy infrastructure\. Our primary sponsors include the DOE, DoD, and other government agencies\. We lead Sandia's work in Smart Grid and microgrids, and we work closely with other organizations within Sandia in SCADA security, infrastructure security, energy research, and energy\-water nexus issues\.

Security Clearance:

This position does not currently require a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted security clearance\.

Sandia will conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record checks, and employment and education verifications\. Further, employees in New Mexico must pass a U\.S\. Air Force background screen for access to the work site\.
