Job Description


This position provides administrative support to contracting representatives from placement through closeout of purchase orders, using procurement and financial tools\. The role also, serves as liaison between suppliers and customers and regularly researches and resolves issues\.

# On a typical day, Purchasing Support will work on the following duties:


# Oversee the administration of less\-complex cost\-type or fixed price service contracts\.

# Plan and implement procurement actions under the guidance of a Sandia contracting representative\.

# Follow up on orders placed, verify deliveries, approve payments, perform price audits, and maintain necessary records\.

# Close contracts, reduce commits on contracts to invoiced amount, follow up on invoicing and receiving of goods or services\. Assist with cost transfers and commit reclassification as needed\.


+ Requires high school diploma\.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L\-level security clearance\.


+ Knowledge of business administration procedures, techniques, and business ethics\.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint\.
+ Knowledge of the formation and administration of purchase orders\.
+ Demonstrated ability to work with a team\.
+ Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions to problems affecting administrative activities related to subcontracts\.
+ Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize projects\.
+ Strong customer service skills\.
+ General knowledge of Sandia and National Nuclear Security Administration policies, directives, management instructions, procurement and subcontract procedures\.

Department Description:

Department 10246 specializes in purchases valued at $150K or less in support of all Program Management Units at the Laboratory\. Our objective is to provide stakeholders with an efficient, predictable and reliable process for transactions valued at $150k or less\. Procurement support includes P\-card Orders, International Purchases, and Standard Purchase Orders\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance\.
