Job Description

:

We are seeking a Vehicle Fleet Administrator

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Forecast and manage costs for fleet operations, and recommend changes to the policy to management\.
+ Examine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness\.
+ Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives, and keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes\.
+ Review and interpret laws, executive orders, and other regulations that apply to fleet operations\.
+ Provide fleet planning, policy development and implementation, budgeting and financial management, risk management \(including insurance and crash strategies\), quality program, fleet safety and fleet life cycle analysis, \(including procurement to disposal\), fuel management, and environmental and regulatory compliance for a 2500\-unit fleet in multiple sites in different states\.
+ Administer Sandia National Laboratories’ vehicle fleet policy to ensure the efficient and economical use of Sandia\-owned or leased vehicles\.
+ Support purchase and disposal activities, insurance administration, expense report administration, accident review, and accounting and financial analysis\.
+ Interface with other departments in matters relating to the vehicle fleet\.
+ Defines and communicates maintenance policies and safety policies\.

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience\.

Desired:

+ Experience interpreting laws and regulations\.
+ Ability to interpret program concepts, translate strategies into specific objectives and action plans, and align processes\.
+ Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research and investigations\.

Department Description:

Fleet Services Department manages the vehicle and equipment fleet and activities for Sandia National Laboratories \(SNL\)\. The fleet consists of GSA leased vehicles, DOE/NNSA owned vehicles and light and heavy duty equipment\. Maintenance performed on DOE owned vehicles and equipment, Office of Secure Transportation \(OST\) fleet vehicles and administration of the GSA lease including promoting alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure are integral activities within the department\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance\.

This Limited Term Employee \(LTE\) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years\.
