The Sandia Mission Services Talent Acquisition Team \(MSTAT\) is hosting this job requisition for Auditor positions at the Lab\. This team is active in identifying candidates with relevant academic and work experience in an effort to meet our staffing needs and objectives for either current or near\-term positions\.

Selected applicants will be interviewed by a subcommittee of managers\. Subsequently, successful applicants will be provided to managers for placement in positions across the Laboratory\.

Candidates are expected to team with others to support Sandia's mission by adding value, improving operations, offering innovative solutions and appropriately managing risk for the corporation\.

**Position Information:**

The Auditor role is responsible for auditing governance, information and financial systems, records, and processes\. Collects and evaluates evidence to determine whether the systems and processes have been designed to maintain data integrity and safeguard assets\. May use evidence to detect deficient controls, fraud, or non\-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies\. Determines and recommends improvements to current risk management controls\. Plans, performs, and provides oversight and direction to others in the conduct of systematic examination and evaluation of substantiating evidence\. Reports to management regarding audit results\.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Conduct audits by examining and verifying, through review or observation, accounting, statistical, operational, and procedural records and practices of internal and external organizations to determine the reliability and effectiveness of controls and risk mitigation efforts\.
+ Review audit work papers and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and logical conclusions to provide tools for effective risk mitigation through the implementation and adherence to recognized auditing standards\.
+ Examine records to ensure proper recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, agreements, and policies\.
+ Conduct audits and prepare reports of findings and recommendations to management and other entities\.


+ Requires bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline plus entry level experience \(up to two years\); or master's degree in Business or related discipline\.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a required US DOE Q\-level security clearance\.


+ Master's degree in business\.
+ A CPA, CIA or similar professional certification\.
+ At least 30 semester hours of accounting course work which includes at least 3 semester hours of audit course work\.
+ Knowledge of auditing techniques and processes\.
+ Familiarity with Federal acquisition policy, governance systems, internal controls, and process improvement are looked upon favorably\.
+ Excellent data analysis skills, functional knowledge of statistical sampling and the ability to interpret results\.
+ Understanding of management information systems and databases\.
+ The candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, a demonstrated ability to work with all levels of management and staff and the ability to successfully manage conflict\.
+ The successful candidate must possess the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision\.
+ The ability to work as the member of a results oriented team is also necessary\.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize a variety of tasks\.
+ Willingness to take initiative, assume ownership of job responsibilities, and make appropriate decisions and see tasks to completion\.
+ Ability to travel, which does not normally exceed five percent of time on an annual basis\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
