Job Description


We are seeking creative and critical thinking individuals to serve as full\-time cyber security engineers/identity management services experts on our team\. Responsibilities of the team include contributing to the development of strategies and architectures for Sandia’s and DOE/NNSA’s secure cyber environments; developing cyber security technology solutions, including application of technology in areas such as encryption, authentication, identity, credential, and access management; maintenance of corporate cyber security software using industry best practices\.


+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Information System, or a related field plus four years of experience; or Master's degree in Computer Science/Mathematics, Computer Information System, or a related field
+ Demonstrated software engineering experience with development tools \(e\.g\., C, C\+\+, \.NET, Web 2\.0, Python, JavaScript\)
+ Web UI experience


+ Familiarity in secure\-system design principles and information assurance principles;
+ Proven strong analytical skills;
+ Strong oral and written communication skills, and an ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely;
+ Work well in teams and individually, candidates must be self\-directed and self\-motivated;
+ Experience researching and developing technology solutions for cyber security applications;
+ Knowledge of Agile software development practices;
+ Experience writing Apache modules in C or Perl;
+ Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, or a related field;
+ Existing DOE Q clearance;
+ Familiarity with Linux and virtual systems;
+ Experience with identity management systems, such as ForgeRock’s OpenIDM;
+ Knowledge of Single Sign On Federation products using SAML 2\.0 and Oauth technology;
+ Experience with two\-factor authentication;
+ Experience troubleshooting of complex enterprise\-architected systems on multiple platforms;
+ Ability to deploy Highly Available and Robust infrastructure;
+ Information Security experience particularly with Identity and Access Management;
+ Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management technologies – SSO, Web Access Management, Entitlement/Certification Management, Federation, Directory Services, Password Management, Provisioning and Job Role Management\.

Department Description:

Sandia's Cyber Security Program is responsible for the protection of Sandia's electronic information while enabling mission work\. Our Cyber Security responsibilities include technology research and development of next generation cyber systems and technologies; including but not limited to areas such as encryption, authentication and authorization methodologies, intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, forensics, reverse engineering incident response, and remediation\. Further, we conduct data acquisition in support of the corporate electronic discovery requirements related to litigation and investigation of waste, fraud and abuse\. Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\.
