Job Description

Introduction

The Agricultural Commissioner's office is seeking applicants for the Agricultural Biologist/Standards Inspector I, II & III to fill three current full-time vacancies, and applicants to fill multiple temporary positions that will primarily be assigned to perform enforcement in connection with the impending cherry harvest season.

The Agricultural Biologist/Standards Inspectors perform professional and technical work in enforcing state, federal and local agricultural weights and measures laws and ordinances. An employee in this class enforces provisions of the Food and Agriculture Code, the California Business and Professions Code, and other related aspects of the California Code of Regulations. Incumbents are expected to be licensed and proficient in the full range of agricultural and weights and measures inspection and enforcement programs and may provide direction and training to less experience employees.
