SDCOE is recruiting for a Special Education Teacher - DHH Regional Program position for the East County SELPA in various locations throughout the East County. Under the general direction of the SELPA Director or Designee, this itinerant teaching position will provide instruction to students with a range of hearing impairments within the SELPA. REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must hold a valid Education Specialist credential with the authorization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) or equivalent document. Applicants must be eligible for a valid CA driver's license. An English Learner authorization/CLAD certificate or equivalency is also required. CPR and First Aid certification highly desirable.

To be considered for this position, please individually attach the following items to your completed EDJOIN Application: - Resume, detailing education and experience - Letter of Introduction - Two Letters of Recommendation (Letters drafted by previous or current supervisors preferred.) - California Education Specialist Instruction (Teaching) credential with authorization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) as issued by the CTC * - CLAD Certification/English Learner Authorization - Transcript documenting your Bachelor Degree * We are also accepting applications for those candidates who are eligible to receive an internship credential as issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. A stipend of $4,500, paid out after three (3) years of consecutive full-time service, shall be paid to unit members hired on or after July 1, 2018, who hold state certification and are employed as Speech Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or Visually-Impaired. The stipend will be paid out at the completion of the third instructional year. Please note that your completed online application must include all of the required supplemental documentation. Employment with the San Diego County Office of Education is contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer background check and physical exam, which includes a drug and alcohol screening.
