Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Program Analyst - Process Design.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Business Management, Computer Science, or related field
  • Knowledge of data processes and process mapping as it relates to healthcare data processes and clinical systems.
  • Skills in analysis, programming (SQL, VBA), problem solving, and trouble-shooting
  • Ability to effectively work with Sharp management, staff, physicians, and others; to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; to achieve results for the organization with and through people; to practice good time management, and to demonstrate good leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare environment; IS principles and practices; the impact of clinical data on the legal, ethical, managerial, and organizational principles and standards for acute general hospitals and integrated health systems.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Health Information Management, Business Management, Computer Science, or related field
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology and proficiency with process mapping software
  • Knowledge of process mapping software


The Programmer Analyst of Process Design for Clinical Analytics oversees the creation, optimization, and standardization of data processes as it relates to Sharp HealthCare’s various analytics programs and efforts. A day in the life of a Programmer Analyst- Process Design at Sharp HealthCare will include:

  • The optimization of business, clinical, technical, and research data processes, the creation of ideal data flows between information systems, and programming technical solutions to support and improve healthcare system data processes and efficiencies.
  • Responsible for using analytics to measure and report the effectiveness of data processes and subsequent impact on various areas of business and healthcare operations
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of information/data systems, data manipulation strategies, process improvement and quality management techniques, and programming languages used to design and model ideal data flows, while having strong recognition of the contexts of decision support in complex healthcare organizations
  • Educate, inform, and consult with team members on Sharp HealthCare data processes, quality control, workflows, and design
  • Work and consult with the Manager of Clinical Analytics and other leaders within Clinical Effectiveness to enable, expand, and support the division with analytics and data management initiatives

Sharp System Services have campuses located in the communities of Kearny Mesa and Serra Mesa and consist of the Spectrum location, the Ruffin Road location and Sharp Operations Center (SOC).  These offices provide the centralized integrated system support services to the operating entities within the system.  These services include: Strategic Planning, Business Development, Information Systems, Compliance, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management and Insurance, Contracts, Human Resources, Facilities Management and Development, Clinical Effectiveness, Finance, Nursing, Systems Supply Chain Services, Marketing and Communications, The Sharp Experience and Sharp University.
