Job Description

Position: MSN Adjunct Faculty (Didactic Course)

Conditions of Employment: PRN

Reports to: Assigned Program Director

Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Nursing. Family Nurse Practitioner preferred. Earned Doctorate (DNP, PhD, EdD) preferred.
* Holds current RN license to practice in Missouri.
* Prior teaching experience, higher education teaching preferred.
* 5-years nursing practice experience required, 2-3 years advanced nursing practice experience preferred.
* Academically and experientially qualified and maintain expertise in areas of responsibility.
* Willingness to be mentored by experienced College faculty members.
* Demonstrates professional accountability.
* Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team in a professional and confidential manner.

Overall Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Teaches assigned course(s) in accordance with description published in course catalog and the approved course outline and syllabi, in accordance with course schedule, and by incorporating best-practice approaches, technologies and methods, whenever possible.
* Adheres to professional standards and legal guidelines of practice.
* Coordinates with other faculty on course implementation.
* Utilizes principles of current nursing practice and diverse teaching strategies in class and clinical experiences.
* Submits progress reports on students for counseling and record keeping purposes, and discusses with course lead teacher, faculty mentor, or program director student issues that may require special attention.
* Adheres to all clinical site and Saint Luke's College policies and procedures.
* Received and is familiar with the SLCHS Student handbook, SLCHS Faculty handbook, and all course specific SLCHS policies and procedures.
* Completes requirements of SLHS system orientation and SLCHS adjunct faculty orientation.
* Completes yearly compliance training.
* Availability for web-based lectures and/or virtual office hours weekly.
* Participates in end of course evaluation with program director to receive constructive feedback and review on course, faculty, and student evaluations.
* Other responsibilities as directed by the assigned program director.
