Elementary Librarian K-5
Saint George School Independent, College Prep, IB, K-12 Elementary Librarian Library Cert required.
Responsibilities:
• Acquires books and other material relevant to the demands of the curriculum, teacher requests, child development themes, and recreational reading interests.
• Prepares and catalogs all library materials received.
• Develops and maintains management and records systems by maintaining an accurate circulation system.
• Establishes procedures for the return of overdue books.
• Takes an accurate inventory each year and keeps books and other materials and equipment in good condition.
• Provides resources to instructional personnel by working cooperatively and constructively with instructional and administrative staff of the school.
• Provides information about new materials and makes them available to staff and students.
• Encourages teachers to suggest materials to be purchased for implementation of education programs.
• Instructs students in the use and resources of the library.
• Participates in in-service workshops and seeks professional development.
• Engages in activities/organizations and reads journals designed to keep abreast in the field of library science.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an elementary (K-5) classroom or Library is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.
- Librarian Certification required
- Washington State Teaching Certificate required.
- Passion for teaching elementary school age students.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Technology literate.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, self-starter, flexible.
Salary/Benefits: Negotiable depending on education and experience.
