JPSS Spacecraft Engineer (Job Number:430352)


Potential candidates will serve as the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Flight Operations Spacecraft

Engineer Tasks/Duties:

- Prepare as backup Spacecraft Systems Engineer for J1 Launch Campaign on the Mission Operations Support Team(MOST)
- Manage BUS Post Launch Tests(PLTs)
- Review all new PLTs and updates
- Support the Mission Operations Support Team (MOST) in development of ground/spacecraft pre-launch processes and procedures.
- Interact with the government spacecraft subject matter experts (SME) as well as vendor SMEs to understand the JPSS BUS.
- Interact with MOST Spacecraft/Instrument Systems Engineers to understand the overall mission purpose.
- Develop and test command procedures, telemetry pages, and other products derived from vendor provided documentation that will be used to command the BUS
- Develop test procedures and test execution for system level, end-to-end tests with the spacecraft.
- Support mission readiness activities including mission rehearsals, mission timeline development, and post launch test development.
- Support launch, including shift work, for instrument and spacecraft LEO&A activities.



- Bachelors and 5+ yrs experience or Masters and 3+ yrs experience or PhD and 0 yrs experience.
- Experience with multiple S/C Subsystems(ADCS, CDH, COMM, EPDS, Thermal, FSW)
- Experience with launch campaigns and spacecraft operations
