IT Business Analyst (Job Number:430151)


SAIC is looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst (BA) / Software Systems Engineer to support our team at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) in Hampton, VA. The BA will interface with numerous organizations across NASA LaRC to support the Center's business automation efforts.
- Collaborate with LaRC organizations to identify, document and communicate business needs.
- Translate customer needs into business requirements and high level technical specifications.
- Communicate effectively with all team members, stakeholders and project sponsors on technical and non- technical topics.
- Serve as the Scrum Master for all required meetings.
- Plan, elicit, capture, analyze and validate business, functional and technical requirements. Develop elements of systems design, including user stories, business process documentation, workflow charts, diagrams, data migration rules, business rules, wireframes, or other detailed deliverables.
- Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and walkthroughs with business and IT resources.
- Strive toward continual optimization across processes using technology to solve issues and increase efficiency.
- Plan functional testing and UAT for projects and enhancements.
- Collaborate with end users and developers on developing comprehensive test cases.
- Create test plans and strategy.
- Perform current state analysis of existing business systems, applications and functions.
- Produce timely and high quality requirements-related work products, including requirement specifications, process flows and mock-ups.
- Answer questions and clarify requirements for projects and enhancements during the software development lifecycle process.
- Become deeply immersed and knowledgeable about core business functions, processes and workflows associated with assigned business areas and projects.
- Understand the relationships, dependencies and impact of neighboring business functions.
- Document, analyze and assess current business processes and underlying systems / applications. Evolve into a subject-matter expert who can easily liaise between IT and other organizations at NASA LaRC.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in technology, programming, or business and five years of related experience.
- Scrum Master Certification.
- Experience using agile methodologies such as Scrum / Agile.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create wire frames; leveraging intuitive design.
- Strong MS Office skills.
- Knowledge of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Strong business acumen; ability to understand business models quickly.
- Ability to interpret customer process requirements and recommend efficiency improvements that fit within the software platform.
- Demonstrated self-starter; strong initiative.
- Ability to manage and focus on multiple tasks and changing priorities.
- Technical writing experience.
- QA / QC background.
- Understanding web based systems and SaaS model.
- Understanding Data feeds.
- Ability to model high level solutions.
- Ability to understand technical constraints

Desired Skills:
- Experience or familiarity with ServiceNow
- Experience or familiarity with software development processes.

- US Citizenship required
