DDI - DNS/DHCP Analyst (Job Number:430242)

Job Description

- Working under general supervision, the DDI Analyst is responsible for the daily operation and support of the central Nokia VitalQIP application and its associated DNS, DHCP and (IP Address Management) IPAM services.
- This position is part of the Corporate Network Operation Center (CNOC).
- Focus is on services of high risk, complexity, availability and visibility that serve the needs of the customer.
- Monitor, maintain and report the status of the system to management,implement customer requests and handling incident response or resolve problems in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and track to closure, frequent inter- organizational, customer, external customer requests, and working with product vendor.
- This position does include on-call support as part of a regular rotation.

Responsibilities:

- Maintain and support centralized application and 120 distributed agent systems
- Provide input to engineering team to design and develop systems to provide essential basic services to keep network running and allow client computers to access it and its services.
- Provide input to engineering team to design, implement, maintain, operate, monitor, and report needed information for DHCP system serving entire campus.
- Provide input to engineering team to design, implement, configure, operate, and maintain Enterprise Class DNS system providing name service to internal and external users
- Maintain systems providing IP address registration, assignment, and management. Participate in design and implementation of IP address management system and campus IP subnet architecture.
- Provide high-level troubleshooting and problem resolution for network services issues.
- Field after- hours emergencies and respond as appropriate.
- Interact with the agency IT Security Team and network users as necessary for Security Incident, support and problem resolution.

Qualifications:

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience

Required Skills:

- Applicants must have previous experience with UNIX/Linux system administration.
- Applicants must also have experience with supporting Domain Name Service (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and Protocol IP Address Management (IPAM), preferably in an enterprise environment.
- Applicant must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills:

- Position requires excellent communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment autonomously and work in a group/team environment.
- Experience in Perl and SQL Script is desired.
