Navy Apprentice Technical Training (ATT) ISD/Subject Matter Expert (SME) (Job Number:430140)



Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) currently has an opening for a Navy Apprentice Technical Training (ATT) Subject Matter Expert (SME) position at Navy Recruit Training Command (NRTC) Great Lakes, Ill. The Navy Apprentice Technical Training (ATT) Instructional System Designer (ISD) / Subject Matter Expert (SME) is focused on all facets of ATT courseware design and reengineering using Navy Education and Training Command (NETC) Course Development, Revision, and Modification End-to-End (E2E) Processes. The ATT ISD/SME will serve as the single point of contact between contracting team and the Government curriculum manager and course supervisors regarding the overall vision, direction, and training impact of the ATT course in order to ensure that desired learning outcomes are being met.

The ISD/SME will perform the following specific duties:

- Perform Job Duty Task Analysis (JDTA), Training Situation Analysis (TSA), and Front-End Analysis in accordance with NAVEDTRA-130 (Series) governances.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) reviews on all scripts, storyboards, and completed courseware to ensure sound design, usability, functionality, and compliance with government requirements for final approval of Navy and Marine Corps technical training.
- Review and edit proposals, reports, Training Support Documents (TSD), Front End Analysis (FEA), Business Case Analysis (BCA), Instructional Media Material, Instructional Performance Requirements Documents (IPRDs), Instructional Media Requirements Documents (IMRDs), Instructional Media Design Packages (IMDPs), and Media Delivery Systems, providing the knowledge and skills necessary to meet Naval Aviation Technical Training requirements.
- Mentor personnel on US Navy PADDIE+M instructional systems design (ISD) principles, command policies, and instructions.
- Suggest content topics, recommend the sequence for presenting topics, and recommend activities based on objectives. Verify and ensure the technical and operational accuracy of the subject content and the treatment of content in materials chosen or produced for the project. Assist in performance of the planning process.
- Consider the relationship of the subject undergoing development to other subjects in the program, making recommendations to enhance the situation.
- Advise instructional developers on during the development of Interactive Multi-media Instruction (IMI), Instructor-Led Training (ILT) and computer simulations (PCSIM) instructional content.
- Maintain a fresh, broad, and imaginative view of the subject and its applications.


- Bachelors and three (3) years or more of related experience; Masters and one year of related experience

- Clearance Level To Obtain: Secret


- The ideal person for this position will also have Navy leadership/instructor experience with Master Training Specialist (MTS) designation.
- Recent experience teaching or managing US Navy Apprentice Technical Training courses.
- Be fully competent using Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) Content Planning Module (CPM) and Learning Objects-Module (LO- Module) courseware authoring toolsets.
- Experience leading JDTA workshops
- Work with and coordinate with other corporate personnel to perform assigned tasks.
- Point out elements in the content that may be difficult, confusing or potential trouble areas.


- Expert knowledge/user of Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) II/Content Planning Module (CPM)/Corporate Enterprise Training Activity Resource System (CeTARS)/Class Event and Resource Scheduling (CERS)/Navy Integrated Training Resources & Administration System (NITRAS)/Standard Training Activity Support System (STASS)/Corporate, Aviation Training and Equipment Management (ATEM)
- Highly skilled with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient with all Office Suite/Adobe Acrobat Pro/Photo
- Certified Navy Instructor Evaluator o Certified Navy Instructor (9502)
