Cyber Security Manager (Job Number:430000)


SAIC is looking to hire a Cyber Security Manager for the NASA National Security Systems (NSS) Team located at Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, AL.

Job Description

- The NSS Team is responsible for the deployment and operation of a communications and computer network providing secure voice, video and data services Agency wide.
- The successful candidate will provide technical expertise to executive level managers within the agency and regularly represents the agency at meetings and discussions with representatives of space flight centers and other federal agencies to resolve problems.
- Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing system.
- Reviews system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
- Conducts studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs.
- All applicants must possess a Top Secret security clearance in order to be considered for employment.
- All applicants must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance in a reasonable amount of time from commencement of employment in order to be considered.
- Demonstrated project management experience required.
- Demonstrated understanding of security methodologies, assessments, and evaluation procedures.
- Experience in security assessments and programs over a broad base of facilities and threat types preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively write, organize and conduct analyses.
- Must be able to prepare written policies and procedures associated with security.
- Broad multi- disciplinary experience preferred (government facilities, commercial and industrial security, communications security, security system design and implementation, guard force operations, etc.).
- Background in Network troubleshooting, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN networking, Cisco network equipment, cryptographic equipment, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Windows operating systems and server support.
- Cisco training/certifications (CCNA, CCNP, LAN/WAN Certification), working knowledge of JWICS and VTC.
- Good interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills are needed.
- Applicants should have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- The ability to formulate and manage spend plans, personnel at remote locations and budgets is a must.
- Applicants need to be able to work without close supervision.
- Background in Intelligence Community and/or DoD closed system is a plus.



- Requires Bachelor's degree and 14+ years of experience or Master's degree and 12+ years of experience. 4 years additional directly-related experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.

- Minimum of 6 years' experience in a Project Management role; in a Network and Information Security/Network Security Environment.

- 12 or more years' experience and background in Network troubleshooting in a Cisco environment; LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Cryptographic equipment

- Cisco related Certification (ie CCNA, CCNP, or LAN/WAN Certifications)

- Proven experience with Security Methodologies, assessments, and evaluation processes.

- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

- Proven experience developing and managing spend plans and budget.

Clearance Requirements:

- Must currently possess a Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain an SCI level security clearance.

Desired Skills/Requirements:

- Current SCI with Counter Intelligence Poly desired.

- Intelligence Community and/or DOD closed system experience.
