Job Description:

This is a Field and Studio-Lab Tech position for the Digital Media Operations/Streaming Services project on premises enterprise scale ICT (Information Communication Technology) media platform for acquisition for IP file delivery, storage and management of media assets.

The responsibilities and work performed may encompass:

-
Field set-up/breakdown and operation of digital and analog media input devices, associated peripherals, interfaces for information and graphics display devices, and other data/image/audio I/O platforms for live and on demand webcasting.

-
Set-up/breakdown, network interface, and operation of field encoders.

-
Studio/Lab configuration and operation of a broad range of media equipment and tools for creating and processing of digital media assets. Including analog and digital image and audio devices (VTRs computers, cameras, mics, etc.). Switches, DAs, signal converters, network and other I/O interfaces.

-
Off-line conversion and encoding from various media format sources to digital files for streaming and/or transfer to HDD, flash drive, etc., print to disc or presentation use.

Media conversion or transcoding from various analog or digital media sources (including film) to digital files with creation of metadata files for Archival purposes.

Post processing of encoded files.

-
Direct interaction with customers during communication events - and provide direct and on line/phone assistance to platform/system users and customers.

Assist with updates, configuration, and maintenance of field and off-line media equipment and systems.

Computer based and analog file and asset management with preparation of appropriate documentation and adherence to platform/system file management procedures and practices.

Preparation and maintenance of appropriate documentation (asset tracking, technical, configuration and operational documents, and instructions.

-
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with team members and independently with minimal supervision

-
Participate in and contribute to project systems continuous improvement processes and development.

Qualifications:
Required Skills:

-
Bachelors degree or 4 additional years experience in lieu of degree

-
3 yrs. minimum experience with professional electronic/digital video media production experience

-
1-3 years experience in professional live media production for webcast or broadcast as part of the technical crew and in a "one-man-band" capacity.

-
Familiarity with both analog and digital media formats - film experience a plus

-
Experience and technical expertise with digital encoding of analog media and conversion of digital media files.

-
2 years minimum experience with professional NLE software/platforms

-
Experience with IT platforms and hardware, including servers, file storage subsystems, workstations, appliances, and peripherals related to IP delivery of video and audio.

Technical expertise integrating and troubleshooting video and audio sources for live webcasting/broadcast, with other communication platforms (VTC, Skype, etc.), digital displays, projection systems and encoding/recording devices.

Desired Skills:

-
Experience with Digital Asset Management systems - DAMs for media a plus Technical media, communications, or computer degree or certification a plus.

Clearance Requirement:

Must currently possess DOE Q or DOD Top Secret security clearance.
