SharePoint Development Team Lead (Job Number:429884)


Job Description:

This contract position is the lead member of a SharePoint team that supports an independent agency of the United States government. The team operates within the agency's Information Technology Infrastructure Operations Department (ITIOD). The role specializes in SharePoint no-code/composite/out- of-the-box solution development (e.g. custom lists, SharePoint Designer workflows) with some custom development (e.g. event receivers) and scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript). The agency makes primary use of the Office 365 Government Community Cloud and SharePoint Online and is currently migrating from an on-premise SharePoint 2010 farm with FAST Search. The agency has approximately 2,300 end users.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead and work within the SharePoint team and with business sponsors and stakeholders to conceive, design, develop, test, implement, and support SharePoint solutions:
- Oversee, lead and mentor the ITIOD SharePoint Development Team
- Manage and track to successful completion the team's development Sprints
- Gather, document, circulate for review, and revise solution requirements
- Create solution design documentation and solution patterns that can be reused by others
- Create SharePoint solutions that exceed customer expectations
- Conduct group and individual user training for newly implemented and modified solutions
- Troubleshoot and enhance pre- existing solutions developed by yourself or others
- Maintain solution requirement, design, and usage documentation along with procedural work instructions Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist with the promotion of SharePoint within the agency
- Assist in the development of content management best practices and governance
- Provide end user support for SharePoint sites and solutions
- Assist in the development of SharePoint end-user training materials
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance activities
- Develop, implement, and manage a taxonomy for content storage and retrieval- working with business users and stakeholders


Required Skills
- Al least 9 years of experience developing SharePoint composite/no-code solutions consisting of Web Parts, Lists, Libraries, and Workflows using SharePoint Designer and InfoPath
- At least 3 years in a team lead role for 4 or more SharePoint developers
- Experience with SharePoint Server 2013/2016 and/or SharePoint Online
- Experience in evaluating current business processes and determining technical solutions using SharePoint to improve those processes
- Experience in developing SharePoint solutions using Visio, Access, and/or PowerShell
- Good communicator with ability to explain complex concepts in plain language, generate enthusiasm, and communicate with all levels of management and staff
- Client oriented and have good customer care skills, understanding clients' needs and concerns
- Attention to detail and commitment to high quality/error free deliverables
- Successfully manage multiple tasks involving planned projects and ad-hoc tasks
- Be motivated, independent and self-sufficient, able to see tasks through to completion with minimal supervision
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience

Desired Skills
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- SharePoint App development experience using REST/OData, JSOM, and CSOM
- Solution development in code and/or scripts for creating site templates, list templates, event receivers, and timer jobs (PowerShell, .NET, C#, CAML)
- Experience with web front end development; HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, XML, XSL
- Ability to develop and manage SharePoint content types and taxonomy to improve document management and search functionality

Clearance Requirement

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Providing a portfolio of URLs, screen captures, screen recordings of prior work would be of great value.
