Server Application Support - Digital Media Operations (SR657) (Job Number:429910)

Job Description:

Develop and operate an enterprise level IT based digital media hub that integrates archiving, file management, and delivery of streaming image and audio media. Digital Media Ops provides services, applications, and tools for media creation, publication and distribution. We encourage and participate in the functional convergence of appropriate IT and communication elements (VTC, Skype, SharePoint, etc.) to provide more integrated ICT (Information & Communications Technology) organizational support. Client support, maintaining accessibility, usability, and viability of media assets are primary concerns. Digital Media Ops maintains the principle networked corporate media resource. Our services support improvement in the effectiveness of Knowledge Management at the enterprise/organizational level and democratization of media creation and on-line publication.

Primary Role:

-
Assure configuration, functionality, and maintenance of project platform servers and network resources.

Primary Responsibilities:

-
Integration of platform architecture components on 3 networks (SRN, ECN, SCN)

-
Configure and document configurations of all application servers

-
Monitor all application services and servers Monitor logs, report anomalies and seek resolutions of network or server issues

-
Participate in testing platform application updates and upgrades in Dev environment with configuration and implementation in Prod environment

-
Interface with vendor engineers to resolve platform bugs or technical configuration issues

-
Monitor and recommend updates to Licensing and Certs as needed

-
Monitor (and test when possible) network infrastructure and architecture updates and changes Interface with network infrastructure/architecture personnel to maintain project platform functionality Monitor Databases

-
Recommendations on server upgrades, replacement and equipment updates

Supporting Role:

-
Occasional support of live webcasting events and offline encoding projects

-
Consulting role application web interface development

Supporting Responsibilities:

-
Field recording of live events - may include set-up and operation field and off-line encoding and recording equipment

-
Works with Technical Admin to develop and document operational procedures and processes

-
Some knowledge of quality projection, presentation, and video production equipment, including multichannel audio mixers, audio equalizers, multimedia and multiscreen presentations, and various video recording and playback formats.

Qualifications:
Required Skills:

-
Bachelors Degree or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.

-
5 years of related experience.

-
Familiarity with network and sever protocols and network and server management technologies.

-
Ability to understand the application and utilization of software packages.

-
Ability to maintain accurate records.

-
Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and database administrators.

-
Knowledge primarily of Windows, and MacOS operating systems. Some Linux and Unix knowledge would be a plus.

-
Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable security or regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.

-
Ability to define systems requirements based on required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.

-
Skill utilizing software diagnostic tools and the ability to conduct appropriate troubleshooting processes and conduct appropriate upgrades

-
Ability to develop solutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members and independently with minimal supervision.
