C# Software Application/Web Developer (Job Number:429765)


The Software Integration, Test, and Engineering Division of SAIC in Huntsville, Alabama currently has an opening for a Web Developer to support the Software Engineering Directorate at Redstone Arsenal.

Job Description:

The candidate for this position will provide software development support to the U.S. Army Software Engineering Directorate. The candidate will be working as part of a software development team that is designing and developing software applications that will enhance Army aviation activities. Main duties will include, planning, designing, developing, and testing applications to support a wide range of products including web applications, web services, and windows services. The candidate will design and code websites, web applications, and web services while striving to create visually appealing sites and applications that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in computer engineering, computer science, or related technical field is required and 2+ years of experience.

Required Skills:

Strong proficiency in C#, JavaScript, Node.js and SQL programming

Development experience with a full-stack, server-side web application framework using the MVC pattern (ASP.NET MVC, Ruby on Rails, Django, etc.)

Up-to-date knowledge of HTML 5 and CSS 3 standards

Experience developing client-side scripts in jQuery

Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture and Object Oriented Design and Programming

Deep grasp of UI, Web User Interface Design (UI), cross-browser compatibility, general web functions, and standards

Strong understanding of security principles as they relate to web application development

Solid grasp of full-stack web application development processes, from the layout/user interface to relational database structures

Ability to create requirements specifications, design documentation, and other technical documentation where applicable

Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices and patterns

Clearance Requirement:

Candidates must have current SECRET security clearance.

Desired Skills:

Experience with Scrum/Agile process

Familiarity with the development and consumption of REST and SOAP web services

ASP.NET MVC framework

Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)

Responsive design with CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation

JavaScript web application frameworks (Angular, Knockout, Backbone, etc.)

Visualization frameworks such as D3.js

Knowledge of Army Aviation systems and data is a plus
