ICGCRD - Converged Content Warehouse Developer - Software Engineer Principal (Job Number:429598)


SAIC has an opening for a Converged Content Warehouse Developer - Software Engineer Principal who will provide the enhancement and support of the IC-GovCloud Converged Content Warehouse portion of the IC IT Enterprise (ICITE) cloud-based platform.

The Principal Software Engineer is responsible for leading teams of software engineers and contributing to projects in support of the IC- GovCloud Converged Content Warehouse system development, improvement, and expansion.

The Converged Content Warehouse Developer - Software Engineer Principal will:

- Develop, maintain and enhance complex and diverse software systems such as processing-intensive analytics; novel algorithms; extremely large datasets; real- time systems; or business management information systems, based upon documented requirements.
- Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
- Resolve software problem reports.
- Provide input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and the use of COTS/GOTS software in lieu of new development.
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software.
- Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
- End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software.
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
- Ensures software standards are met.


- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline and nine (9) years or more experience or more experience of progressively responsible experience in software development, software engineering, data warehousing, Big Data analytics, or data visualization.

- Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ;
- PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.;
- four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of nine (9) years' experience as a software engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity as the pertinent delivery order.
- Within the last seven (7) years, a minimum of four (4) years experience developing and re-engineering large JAVA applications in an integrated development environment such as Eclipse throughout the full timeframe.
- A minimum of nine (9) years of experience designing and developing applications for execution in distributed computing environments.
- A minimum of nine (9) years of experience with Apache Hadoop framework and MapReduce.
- Extensive experience in the following technologies and areas:
- Software development in various environments, including leading and managing software development teams and working in multiple-organization environments, developing and presenting documentation and recommendations
- Designing multi-layered, complex systems, integrating COTS and open-source software, and developing complex data warehouse and workflow systems
- Demonstrated experience with COTS and open source tools


- Demonstrated experience of the ingest processing of TDF formatted data into the Converged Content Warehouse.
- Demonstrated experience with performing software development of COPILOT/Burrito in support of IC data requirements.
- Demonstrated experience working with IC data providers to understand their specific data handling and query use cases.
- Demonstrated experience working with IC developers to help them prepare their data and use the DATAWAVE API.
- Demonstrated experience with setup and configuration of the CWH software stack to support ingest and query of IC data.


- Candidate must currently possess a TS/SCI with Poly
- U.S. citizenship required

- Minimal travel required for this position
