Job Description

Intermediate Security Engineer (Job Number:429549)


Primary duties are to provide management oversight for establishing and maintaining the policies and guidelines for the creation, utilization and maintenance of the Y2D242's lab to include managing required SSP maintenance and patch compliance activities; conduction equipment/software t upgrades; lab software license management, identifying way-forward; and related activities to ensure the viability and availability of this lab and associated SSPs and accreditations to support HAIPE evolving test, evaluation, and development activities. Maintain the availability and integrity of the HAIPE computing infrastructure. Design, integrate, and promote security features, products or procedures to ensure certification and accreditation. Assess and abate vulnerabilities, detect and deter intrusion and viruses. Review investigative processing of security incidents to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Develop or interpret computer security policies.



Required Skills:
Specific activities/equipment include ASA Firewall, NIFI Server, Prevalent SEM, NETSEET services, Syslog forwarders, Oversight and compliance requirements, creation custom software scripts, NSA Cloud, and IAVA Patch compliance. Related tasking include implementing, configuring, and sustaining computer/network security solutions (e.g., encryption, firewalls, anti-virus rule sets and intrusion detection/preventions systems. Operating Systems Experience include Linux, Windows, IOS to conduct account creation; Backups; Password changes. Software deployment; Scripting to automate tasks; Hardware (e.g., disk drives) configuration and replacement; workstation installations and configurations; knowledge of system accreditation, and Multiple infrastructure application installations.

Desired Skills:
Relevant experience in the design/development of computer or information systems and engineering hardware and/or software over their lifecycle (i.e., requirements analysis, design, implementations, testing, integration, deployment/installation, and maintenance), programming, computer systems research, reverse engineering, and/or computer/network security, Information Assurance Certifications (e.g., NET+, Security+, Certified Information System Professional (CISSP), and Certification Accreditation Professional (CAP)) are a plus.
