NGCV-EP Program Manager - Sterling Heights, MI (Job Number:428577)



SAIC is seeking a Program Manager to support our Next Generation Combat Vehicle ( (NGCV Program, located in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Leads and manages a full lifecycle tactical vehicle development and production program. Directly responsible for ensuring products meet design, performance, and quality requirements and are delivered within cost and schedule parameters. Leads and provides programmatic and technical guidance to a large team of engineering, manufacturing, quality, and logistics professionals. Primary duties and responsibilities include:

1. Plans, coordinates and executes program requirements, ensuring achievement of financial, schedule, and technical objectives. Reviews and manages status of projects, control accounts, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and status reports.
2. Serves as principal interface with the customer and with SAIC management on all program issues including: cost, schedule, technical, risk management, and contractual status. Also interfaces with user representatives, partners, vendors, subcontractors and functional teammates to include contracts, procurement, finance, and human resources.
3. Provides program leadership in Program Execution, anticipates and resolves problems, and ensures inter-group communication and cooperation. Assesses issues and risks and develops solutions to maintain: schedule, quality, and performance goals and objectives.
4. Leads the program's planning as it relates to the design and the delivery of technical solutions supporting customer requests and/or product improvements. Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. Apply and/or develop highly integrated plan from program principles and concepts meeting program objectives.
5. Leads Lifecycle Management (LCM) planning and implementation. Ensures LCM mandates are implemented for the program and ensures program documentation is of acceptable quality and completeness.
6. Actively promotes a culture of quality, safety, health, and personal wellbeing for self, employees and the program team. Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with quality, safety and environmental objectives and policies.
7. Proficient in managing to and complies with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to ethics, export control, proprietary information, document/record retention, public communication, etc.


- Candidate must currently possess and be able to maintain a SECRET clearance


- PhD with 10 Years or M.A/M.S. with 12 or B.S with 14 Years. PhD/MA/MS/BA/BS in Management, Business, or engineering, scientific, or technical discipline. Advance degree preferred.
- Extensive military vehicle or automotive production experience
- Demonstrated strong working knowledge of the product life-cycle design, development, production, and sustainment of physical products.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work across functional boundaries and build a team are required.
- Demonstrated experience performing the full range of Supplier Management with respect to: subcontractors, suppliers, and/or vendors (scope definition, negotiation, execution, issue resolution, acceptance, etc.)
- Experience in managing government contracts
- Ability to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close projects
- Ability to hire, develop, motivate, direct, and retain staff
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and delegate
- Ability to identify, manage and mitigate risk
- Ability to plan strategically
- Ability to effectively represent the company / program
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage interpersonal relations and conflicts
- Ability to use objectivity, creativity, and analytical ability to solve problems


- Extensive experience with US Army or USMC product development, production, and fielding processes
- Experience with US Army or USMC program management

- ISO-9001:2015 Experience
- Quality system certification or experience
