Space Launch Enterprise Engineer (Job Number:426313)


SAIC has an opening for a Space Launch Enterprise Engineer who possesses

some working knowledge of space launch systems and processes and will develop briefings and assessments for a variety of Government customers and audiences and must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner. S/he will support cradle to grave launch and launch support activities.

- Extensive knowledge of client/customer launch policy and procedures
- Thorough understanding of launch vehicle production processes and practices, launch site preparations flow and day-of-launch procedures
- Thorough understanding of Satellite Vehicle launch interface requirements, launch transportation and processing requirements
- Ability to perform thorough analysis and quick issue resolution simultaneously
- Working knowledge of the acquisition lifecycle requirements
- Program management experience and a working knowledge of client/customer budgeting and financial processes
- Provide recommendations/products that reflect best path for the client/customer and OSL based on extensive launch experience
- Supports OSL Contracting Officer Representative (COR) contract management activities for ECP forecasting and implementation coordination, award fee evaluation and contractor oversight
- Supports the launch vehicle acquisition process including booster procurement and mission integration activities
- Provides a focal point for coordination of day-to-day issues, within OSL and with local client/customer organizations, in the areas of current issues, program control and contracts
- Facilitates coordination of required contract actions and/or schedule adjustments
- Participates in fact finding as well as the writing and reviewing of technical evaluations for the COR
- Provides support and aids in the development of Acquisition Strategy Documentation
- Maintains insight into launch vehicle development activities to ensure client/customer requirements are being addressed
- Provides a horizontal engineering focus on the EELV and New Entrant launch fleet from a client/customer mission perspective
- Supports the program office at technical and business reviews
- Provides recommendations and insight into monitoring contractor performance
- Interfaces with SMC/LR Program Office to assist in defining new client/customer launch vehicle requirements or changes to existing client/customer requirements
- Supports the in developing budget estimates for submittal to CBJB and IPBS cycles
- Supports the review of requirements, budget allocation and execution planning activities through the Requirements and Engineering Review Boards (RRB, ERB)

The Space Launch Enterprise Engineer Senior Principal will focus on Launch Vehicle Acquisition and Management Support. Support COTR; coordinating contractual actions; and drafting technical evaluations.


- Bachelors in a Technical field and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience or No degree and 15 years of relevant experience. Assoicates and 10 years of relevant experience.
- In addition:

- 7 years space launch experience
- 5 years Government acquisition experience
- 2 years of customer/client experience


- Bachelors in a Technical field and eight (8) years or more experience; No degree and 18 years of relevant experience. Assoicates and 13 years of relevant experience.

- 5 years Government acquisition experience
- 5 years of customer/client experience
