Audio/Visual (AV) Technician - AMX Controls Programmer (Job Number:424962)

Description:



SAIC has an opportunity for an AMX Controls Programmer to join our team at Offutt AFB, NE. This is an opportunity for you to lead the design of AV capabilities for US Strategic Air Command (USSTRATCOM) and their new Data Center.

The AV Technician position is responsible for providing AV and AMX controls programming support focusing on the design, installation, configuration, development, integration, implementation, and testing AMX controls and interfaces in a complex environment with multiple classification enclaves and integrated with Department of Defense (DoD) Command and Control (C2) systems utilizing associated information assurance (IA) processes and procedures.

Work closely with Government project managers and engineers to create control system code and touch panel layouts for all aspects of the control system throughout the facility. This will comprise of 100 master controllers and 400 touch panels. The candidate will be responsible for transforming high and low level enterprise design artifacts into a working, representative test system within a lab environment, developing pass/fail criteria, performing controlled testing, capturing and analyzing results, optimizing system performance, and troubleshooting anomalies.

The candidate will work closely with Government engineers during all stages of testing and be responsible for working with other enterprise disciplines as previously- tested component systems are later integrated into larger, enterprise-level systems of systems. The AV Technician will be required to record, document, and deliver all related testing, installation, configuration, optimization, operations, and IA-compliance documentation upon completion of testing or incrementally as determined by the customer.

The candidate will capture and document system details within architectural drawings using AutoCAD to be used during final system installation, configuration, integration, and implementation. This is a customer-facing position and may require interaction with senior customer leadership on matters concerning design, engineering, or functional areas.

The AV Technician may be responsible for the technical direction, leadership, and training of cross-functional teams and be able to prioritize participation in multiple, concurrent testing events. The AV Technician must possess a strong belief in the principles of task ownership, accountability, and teamwork.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

- Provide AV and AMX controls programming engineering input to the Installation Design Plan (IDP) to support procurement, configuration management, and certification and accreditation of proposed systems
- Develop functional process diagrams for AV services
- Provide AV and AMX controls programming engineering support focusing on the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of AV services
- Design, install, provision, configure, optimize, tunine, integrate, and administer AV and AMX controls programming solution technologies in a lab environment
- Comply with all applicable security and Information assurance (IA) policies and directives
- Develop comprehensive test cases to include testing scenarios for both normal and degraded (e.g., disaster recovery, continuity of operations, data recovery, data spill, etc.) operations, pass/fail criteria, performance criteria, capacity planning, measurement criteria, results analysis procedures, and reporting criteria
- Assist the SSC Pacific Government team in planning, executing and documenting system operational verification tests (SOVT) in accordance with SPAWAR M-4720.1, Shore Installation Process Handbook v4.0, 12 Nov 14
- Interface with C2 system owners during integration testing preparation and execution
- Perform requirements analysis to capture and incorporate C2 and other component system of systems testing criteria into integration testing scenarios
- Support and document the implementation of approved changes to system configurations, software, and infrastructure within the approved testing schedule
- Provide ongoing progress to leadership, system owners, and peers regarding health of the environment and status of testing
- Research and analyze emerging AV and AMX controls programming technologies, techniques, and protocols and making recommendations
- Assist with procurement of hardware, software, and services
- Support the installation of new AV technology components, if required

Key Technologies and Processes:

- AMX Netlinx Programming using advanced programming
- Creation of modules to be used throughout the facility
- Must have extensive AV programming understanding including real-time feedback and advanced computations that will allow end user to see actual system state.
- Position requires the programmer to be onsite full time to work closely with new equipment and understand customer touch panel design changes.
- Applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)

STIG Qualifications:

a) Must possess a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI and be SCI-eligible

b) Must possess a Certified AMX ACE-P Programing Expert or equivalent/higher certification

c) Must possess an active DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program certification at information assurance technical level II (IAT II; CompTIA Security+ or equivalent) and the respective network and computing environment certification (see b, above)

d) Must possess five or more years of demonstrated advanced, hands-on, AV and AMX controls programming engineering experience supporting the design, installation, configuration, development, integration, implementation, and testing of AV services in a complex environment with multiple classification enclaves and integrated with DoD C2 systems utilizing associated information assurance processes/procedures

e) Must possess demonstrated advanced experience supporting and troubleshooting AV and AMX controls programming issues reported through monitoring or customer submittals

f) Must possess demonstrated familiarity with Enterprise IT environments (AV, data center, computing, storage, network, security, replication, backup/recovery, policies and procedures)

g) Must possess demonstrated experience in the development and refinement of processes and procedures to ensure efficient, repeatable and effective monitoring and troubleshooting of AV services h) Must possess advanced interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively, self- awareness, and excellent written and oral communications.

i) Must demonstrate the ability to drive efficient resolution of all incidents through analytical and structured approaches to problem solving

j) Should possess a Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline; experience may be accepted in lieu of education

k) Should possess one or more AV-related certifications

l) Should possess demonstrated experience with ITIL methodology; specifically Incident, Request and Change management principles and tracking systems

m) Should possess demonstrated experience with Operations support within an ITIL Service Operations management framework, including use of Service Now or Remedy service management tools

n) Should possess demonstrated experience with IT service management best practices such as change, problem, incident, configuration and service level management

Qualifications:
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
