Job Description

Description

MongoDB is seeking talented students to help us build the next generation in database technology. Join the team that is helping the world's most sophisticated organizations transform their industries by harnessing the power of data. Our internship program is based in our New York City office.

As a Summer Intern you will work directly with full-time engineering mentors on either an existing team or a new project. In both cases, you'll do work that matters and gain practical software engineering experience. Interns are fully integrated software engineers who spend the summer pushing code, working on MongoDB's products, internal tools, and more. Whether it's contributing to our open-source database or one of our Cloud offerings, interns make lasting contributions to our engineering team.

Our summer program is comprehensive and interactive - you won't sit behind a desk all day. We have social outings (think team dinners, broadway shows, NYC sightseeing, and more) and an intern speaker series where you'll hear from some of the most significant and important people in tech today. You'll gain insight into what makes a billion dollar company run. At the end of the summer you'll be a better software engineer and a more informed citizen of the world.

The right candidate for this role will:

Be in the process of receiving a Bachelor's or Master's degree in in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields

Have a solid foundation in computer science theory, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design

Be proficient in one of our commonly used languages - which include C++, Go, Ruby, Python, Java, Javascript, Node.js - or a comparable high level programming language

Be genuinely interested in MongoDB the company and be excited to use MongoDB in a project, if you haven't already
