Job Description

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Section of Infectious Disease Diagnostics and Clinical Microbiology in the Division of Clinical Pathology . The section is responsible for directing the clinical microbiology laboratory services at Barnabas Health /Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital - the school's 600 bed tertiary care core teaching hospital- as well as the New Jersey Department of Health's Public Health Laboratory service which provides infectious disease diagnostic testing and surveillance along with other laboratory testing of public health importance throughout the state of New Jersey. The successful candidate will share laboratory responsibilities with the Director and Associate Director of Infectious Disease Diagnostics and Clinical Microbiology providing technical innovation and oversight and consulting with clinical staff, will participate actively in the educational programs of the Department, teaching medical students, residents and fellows, and will be expected to engage in productive research activities.

This candidate will also assist in the Pathology Department educational programs and the selected candidate will be expected to teach medical students, residents and fellows. Scholarly pursuits are not required but encouraged. The academic appointment will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and curriculum vitae.
