Job Description:

Our full-time summer internship program starts in May or June and requires a 10 to 12 week commitment. The Overlay Services team offers multi-asset derivative-based solutions to large institutional investors. Our core product offerings include synthetic rebalancing, cash equitization, portable alpha, downside protection, and liability-hedging strategies, utilizing a variety of instruments (primarily derivatives such as futures, forwards, swaps, and options). The person in the role will support the Overlay Services portfolio management and analyst teams with daily investment and operational activities and longer-term process improvement projects.

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

* Accessing various custodian systems, Bloomberg, and data vendor websites to collect and analyze portfolio and market data.
* Maintaining and improving systems, databases, and internal sites.
* Assisting with daily trading processes and reconciliation.
* Reviewing data for accuracy which requires working directly with investment managers and custodian banks to investigate questionable values.
* Responding to ad hoc Portfolio Manager and Portfolio Analyst requests.
* Updating our competitor analysis by querying various websites.
* Work on various projects in the Overlay Services queue (e.g., documentation, updating SharePoint, cost analysis etc).

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

* Candidates must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program, majoring in an asset management related field (finance, business administration, economics, mathematics, accounting). Finance majors preferred.
* Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
* High level of proficiency in Excel is a must. Knowledge of Microsoft Access and SharePoint, and SQL is preferred.
* Experience working in and analyzing large data sets.
* Individual contributor and effective in a team environment, including being self-motivated and having a strong desire to learn.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Understanding of financial markets and investment concepts. Academic experience in derivatives is preferred.
* Highly organized and detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize assignments with minimal supervision.
* Flexible and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
* The candidate must be able to commit to the following work schedule: Monday-Friday: 6:00am-3:00pm
