Job Description

Summary:

Rubicon Project is looking for a Business Analyst who will support the Vice President of Business Analysis in taking ownership of the efficiency, quality, and profitability of all aspects of Rubicon's marketplace. The Analyst, Business Analysis will collaborate directly with resources from Product, Data Science, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to provide actionable, data-driven insights to improve Rubicon's competitive positioning and operational efficiency and profitability. Areas of responsibility include: reporting, data analysis, pricing, financial modeling, algorithm testing/implementation/analysis, and monitoring buyer and seller trends.

Responsibilities:

* Act as primary analytics resource for Product team
* Lead data analysis for projects such as:
* Algorithm development and testing
* Marketplace optimization opportunities
* New products and product enhancements


* Manage internal and external reporting for Rubicon's auction dynamics offerings
* Analyze marketplace data to help us better understand what moves the online advertising market
* Develop understanding of our marketplace data and algorithms and how we can adjust algorithms to maximize company efficiency and revenue
* Develop analytical models to support new product lines
* Evaluate pricing structures for new products and customers
* Creatively problem solve to develop solutions to help scale and grow business globally
* Become intimately familiar with company and marketplace mentors and help other parts of the company to utilize those metrics effectively
* Support various business partners with advanced analytics including ad hoc requests, data visualization, and dashboarding

Qualifications:

* 2+ years consulting/finance/investment banking/data analysis, or related experience
* BA/BS required; undergraduate degree in Economics, Math, Finance, or related field preferred
* Background in mathematical and statistical analysis
* Creative problem-solver who can turn data into analyses into action
* Proficiency with SQL and basic programming language/software (Python, etc.)
* Strong Excel and data analysis skills, including visualization
* Experience in the online advertising industry preferred but not required
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work with and coordinate remote team members
* Must be highly organized, analytical, process-oriented
