The Tax Credit Equity Group (www.rbccm.com/tceg) is a leading national syndicator of real estate tax credits, including State and Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs), Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits (HRTCs), and New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs).

Real Estate Investment Analyst Intern

The Real Estate Investment Analyst Intern will support the pricing and deal closing teams within Tax Credit Equity Group. On the closing side, this will be working directly with Investment Analysts to prepare Investment Summaries, analyze rents and expenses and review all related underwriting materials. On the pricing team, this position works directly with Senior Associates and Investment Analysts to model and price deals and prepare Letters of Intent.

What will you do?

* Financial modeling, structuring and underwriting of multifamily real estate transactions with tax credits with oversight from Investment Analysts and Associates.
* Shadow and assist Investment Analysts on underwriting elements of a transaction, including but not limited to, the following: Market Analysis, Expense Comp Analysis, and Modeling Sensitivity Analysis.
* Work with the Pricing Group on initial modeling, including initial deal screening with thoughtful and thorough review and analysis of proposed investment opportunities, and structuring and market analysis.
* Prepare materials for Issuance meeting, including sensitivities, and provide support to Pricing Group during the meeting with regards to underwriting and financial modeling.
* Assist Originators and Investment Associates during pricing guidance process in preparation for Letter of Intent ("LOI") or Request for Proposal ("RFP")
* Prepare LOI or RFP based on financial model and pricing guidance for review by internal staff.
* Assist Investment Analysts and Associates for preparation and presentation of core underwriting meeting materials and follow up on outstanding questions.
* Coordinate preparation of Investment Underwriting Analysis with Investment Analysts for closing.

What do you need to succeed?

In selecting analysts, we look for the following:


* Candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Real Estate/Urban Planning.
* A strong interest in real estate investment and/or affordable housing, and excellent quantitative and analytical skills are essential.
* Proficiency in MS-Office applications is required.


* Previous experience in real estate underwriting activities and financial modeling, affordable housing, or tax credit syndication.
