This position is focused on the specification, design, development, and test of software components for DoD communication control and data management software executing on a Windows-based platform. The successful candidate will be an energetic and positive-thinking individual who is able to function effectively in a dynamic cross-organizational team environment. The engineer will be responsible for performing normal software development tasks under direct supervision. Assignments are usually part of a larger engineering project including analysis of requirements and documentation of design, development and test of moderate to complex software systems and components. The candidate should exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills.The candidate should possess the following skills and experience:Required Skills:- Translating functional requirements and technical constraints into product specifications- Windows programming: C /MFC, using Visual Studio 2010- Excellent problem-solving and analytical reasoning capabilitiesPreferred Skills:- Military Tactical Data Link familiarity or expertise: Link 16, VMF, etc.- Unit Test Frameworks/Test automation experience- Networking (TCP/IP), computer networks- Military Communication Protocols (1553, 188/220, etc.), radios and terminals- Human Factors/Human-machine interface, user interfaces design- Experience developing in a CMMI L3 or L5 process environmentApplicant must be capable of obtaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor's degree in applicable engineering or science field, or, in the absence of a bachelor's degree, six years of related engineering experience.
