Job Description


Resource 1 is looking for a Sr. Oracle DBA/WebLogic Administrator. This is a hybrid role where the individual will be responsible for providing operational database administration for the Oracle DB environment, as well as administrative functions for the WebLogic Middleware server environment.


  • Administration of Enterprise Oracle DB environment including troubleshooting, installing, backups, recovery, security, replications, memory management, configurations, and tuning.
  • Monitor and support Oracle BI, OID, and Oracle Forms & Reports applications from an administration standpoint including the configuration of Database environment based on application changes.
  • Administration of Oracle WebLogic 12 environment including application deployments, configuration changes, certificate management. Analyze error logs, tuning, and HTTP server troubleshooting.
  • Performs database modifications as required to support system enhancements, implementations, maintenance, and data recovery.
  • Analyzes system environment as it relates to database performance, Linux/Unix environment settings, and hardware configurations.
  • Monitors database integrity in a proactive manner with respect to hardware corruption, software malfunctions, and user error.
  • Support Oracle Enterprise Manager and Plugins. Versions 11, 12 & 13.
  • Manage backup and recovery with RMAN and media managers.
  • Perform upgrades and patches of Oracle Database and Middleware systems.


  • 5-7 years working experience as an Oracle Database Administrator running on a Linux system. The individual should have a working knowledge of Oracle 10g or higher.
  • 3-5 years experience providing administration for Oracle WebLogic in an enterprise environment.
  • Good knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control.
  • Good knowledge of backup and recovery processes with RMAN and media managers.
  • The ability to communicate with all levels of personnel is essential.
  • Technical writing skills are required for database management documentation and procedures.
