Job Description

Prestigious Hosting Company in west suburban Chicago has an immediate need for an Infrastructure Presales Solutions Architect. The Solutions Architect works autonomously and as part of the larger sales team engaging with clients to understand their key business challenges and IT priorities in an effort to design customized solutions that meet these needs. With a clear and agreed upon client vision, the Solution Architect will be responsible for architecting and designing the solution to realize the customer vision during the sales process and retain client ownership through to implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and lead elements of the pre-sales process to understand customer business, technical objectives, and product requirements
  • Design solutions to meet the business/technical objectives
  • Ability to think past the products and create solutions to meet the business/IT needs
  • Work with services sales and delivery teams to map design into a product/services roadmap to help the customer to solve their objective
  • Effectively communicate solutions architecture to the customer, third parties and the project teams
  • Ensure that proposals are technically sound, deliverable, competitive and representative of market leadership in the application of technology to addressing business issues
  • Gain executive buy in for complex solutions by engaging in executive and senior-level technology discussions
  • Provide feedback to Product Management based on customer feedback

Requirements:

  • 10+ Years of experience in a technical capacity in either Infrastructure, Development or Systems Management
  • Minimum 5+ years business development experience in a consulting and/or professional services environment
  • 4+ years as a technical solutions architect in a consulting environment, including time supporting sales and managing technical staff and implementations
  • Well versed in the hosting technology landscape including compute, storage, backup, network, security, DR, DevOps and IT governance environments, including fail-over techniques, recovery/rollback, and application partitioning
  • Understanding of (and experience with) public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid solutions preferred
  • Strong presentation, executive client management and business development skills
  • Superior organizational and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable creating future state architectures for progressive technologies
  • Familiarity with modern converged infrastructure and hyper converged infrastructure platforms is a plus
