Job Description

Seeking a Server Infrastructure Engineer to provide day-to-day support for a large organization with a global presence. The Server infrastructure engineer will configure, manage and maintain SCCM and SCOM environment.

Current Company Server Infrastructure Technologies and Skills Needed:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 R2/2016
  • Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 and 2016 (Required)
  • Microsoft SCCM & SCOM (required, will use on a daily basis)
  • Red Hat Linux, other Unix Variant Vendor Appliances ( Nice to have - 150+ Linux Appliances, mostly Vendor supported)
  • Microsoft Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/DFS
  • CISCO UCS M, B and C Series Server Hardware (Required)
  • HP BL, and DL Series Server Hardware
  • VMware Virtual Center and ESXi v6.x (migrating from VMware to Hyper-V)
  • HP SIM, UCS Manager, UCS Director
  • VBScript, PowerShell

Responsibilities will include:

  • Deploy, maintain and upgrade VMWare ESXi 6.x and Microsoft Hyper-V 2012/2016 hypervisors. Must understand vCenter and Virtual Machine Manager and be able to perform all essential functions within both applications.
  • Install, configure and maintain Cisco UCS hardware and software. Understanding of Cisco Fiber Interconnects and UCS Server Profiles is a must.
  • Maintain Windows & Linux server environment including deploying new Servers, decommissioning Servers, troubleshooting issues with existing Servers and assisting other IT groups with specific server related tasks such as installing new roles and implementing security team mandated changes and guidelines.
  • Respond to Level 1 thru 3 support tickets and provide timely support to other IT groups.
  • Work on IT projects and be able to see project from planning stages to completion.
  • Work with new hardware and software technologies and be able to understand and learn said technologies to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) as needed or delegated by manager.
  • Work with the Operation Center team to provide data center support as necessary for server technologies.
