Microsoft Administration, App Support

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Installs defined configurations for new and upgraded software applications for the Windows application environment.

- Completes defined Microsoft systems audits for compliance with standards, security and interoperability. Assigns application access, security, and profiles as directed.

- Monitors, evaluates, and reports on the overall system performance. Identifies errors and conducts tests to isolate problems. Troubleshoots malfunctions on hardware and software to keep new and existing systems operational.

- Participates in the testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for Windows applications.

- Responds to help desk trouble tickets in relation to Windows applications. Ensures tickets are being responded to in accordance with the prescribed service levels set by management.

- Understands, supports and enforces IT security policy, as directed by management, to promote a secure computing environment at Company.

SKILLS:

  • Understanding of several computer concepts such as networking, database (MS SQL, MySQL) and operating systems (Windows Server).
  • Knowledge on JBoss, Tomcat or similar Java Application Server. IIS and terminal server administration.
  • Basic application development in a programming or Scripting language. (.NET, Power Shell and VB.NET).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, X.509 certificates.
  • 3+ year with professional Windows experience.
  • Customer service skills that demonstrate the ability to respond to user problems with a sense of urgency.
  • Intermediate PC skills: word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
